Dr. David Drake is Founder and CEO of The Moment Institute in Portland, Oregon. He has been a pioneer in the coaching space for 25 years, including as the founder of Narrative Coaching. Practitioners are using his new work, Integrative Development, to help them to liberate the learning and development potential in any moment in workshops, classrooms, and coaching sessions.
David has worked with over 70 organizations, including ARM, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Dropbox, Google, Logitech, Nike, PwC, Xero, and government agencies in the US and Australia. He helps organizations to effectively integrate coaching into how business gets done. He serves as the Learning & Development Advisor for Ovida (ovida.org), a leading AI start-up that accelerates the capacity of coaches to get better at what they do. He is using his work with Integrative Development to help them create a first-of-its-kind AI-informed complete learning pathway and customized algorithms.
David earned his PhD in Human & Organizational Development from Fielding Graduate University. He is a Thought Leader for the Institute of Coaching at Harvard. He is currently partnering with them on The Five Maturities Project to advance how coaches are assessed and developed. He is also an 8x WBECS Summit Speaker and a frequent contributor to Coaches Rising programs. He is the author of 70 publications, including as co-editor of SAGE Handbook of Coaching (2016) and as author of Narrative Coaching: The Definitive Guide to Bringing New Stories to Life (2018).
